Picasso paintings have been stolen

TWO Picasso paintings valued at £35million have been stolen from the Paris home of the Spanish painter’s granddaughter.

The paintings were stolen in the night of Monday or Tuesday by robbers who broke into Marina Ruiz Picasso apartment in the French capital.

A police spokesman said the two stolen paintings were the Maya a la poupee (Maya with doll) from 1938, and Portrait de femme, Jacqueline.

The investigation is being handled by the police’s organised crime division.

The spokesman said there was no obvious sign of a break in at the apartment.
